Life with Two
I think the most common question I’ve received since having Matilda has been “how is life with two?”
The fact that I have been meaning to write this post for the past month and am just getting to it now should give you part of the answer. And more:
- Some people say that the reduction of free time makes them focus and able to complete tasks more efficiently - for me, I am so paralyzed by my ever growing to-do list that whenever I have five minutes that I could use for something productive, like say, uploading six weeks worth of baby photos or booking time for a haircut, I end up mindlessly looking at shoes I don’t buy on Zappos.
- I typically have about five minutes to decide and act on which is most important: clean dishes, clean laundry, or a clean me. Or Zappos.
- Poor Lincoln.
- If peeing and eating were Olympic sports, both Tillie AND I could compete for gold medals - her for endurance & me for speed.
- Caillou has become our third child in the evenings. I am even a bit fond of that bald-headed whiner, because it means I have 22 minutes free. You know, to spend on Zappos.
- You’d be amazed at the things you can accomplish while nursing. Like giving your other daughter a bath at the same time. And watching entire seasons of Revenge, Parenthood, and Brothers & Sisters.
- I’ve started to think of the laundry baskets in my living room as furniture pieces. In fact, why doesn’t Crate and Barrel make a mid century modern laundry basket coffee table? I’d buy that.
- Poor, poor Lincoln.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, there is a pair of boots I *need* to research on Zappos.
Love,
A
*this post brought to you by Zappos. not really. i kinda wish.
